Thee Burger Dude
Vegan Galley Boy

the Mid-West Classic gets a VEGAN MAKEOVER!
There's not too much to say about this burger other than it's one of the most simple yet unique burgers I've made!
It hails from a place called Swenson's in Ohio, and it's got two Special Sauces, and on top of that we are mixing in some brown sugar with our plant-based meat. It sounds weird I know, but it totally works! The sugar gets caramelized and there's a wonderful sweet and salty flavor to it.
The two sauces are basically a BBQ sauce and a Tartar Sauce, which again, sounds like a weird combo, but I totally dug it!
This recipe is adapted from this ONE HERE!
Here's a video for the Burger!

RECIPE
Makes 1 Burger
6 oz plant-based meat (divided into two 3 oz patties)
1 Tbsp brown sugar
1 Burger Bun
1 slice of vegan cheese
1 cocktail olive
Special Sauce #1
2 Tbsp vegan mayo
1 Tbsp dill relish
1 Tbsp minced onion
Pinch of salt
Special Sauce #2
2 Tbsp chili sauce (like Heinz)
1 tsp molasses
Splash of liquid smoke
Splash of maple syrup
1 tsp minced onions
INSTRUCTIONS
Make the two special sauces by combining their respective ingredients. Store in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
Combine the plant-based meat and brown sugar.
Over medium heat, grill your buns in some vegan butter or vegan mayo.
Form your burger patties and grill them for 2-3 minutes, then flip. Repeat this 4 times! This will help the brown sugar caramelize.
After you flip your patties 4 times, add a slice of vegan cheese to one, cover to melt.
Assemble burger as pictured and ENJOY!
