Vegan Big Mac
The Classic Big Mac, only VEGAN!
There isn't much to say about this! It's literally a Big Mac only Vegan! As a kid, I ate my fair share of Big Macs. I LOVED them! But something happened as I got older, either my taste buds changed, or McDonald's went down in quality (probably both) but I never really indulged in them. I would get one about once a year when I was feeling nostalgic (and probably drunk) and it just never hit the notes like I remembered. Well, this VEGAN version is just as good if not better than I recall.
It's also a beast of a burger, I don't remember ever being so full after eating a regular Big Mac. Funny, I thought being vegan meant you were always going hungry! Somehow that's not true with this burger!
Also, traditionally the Big Mac has one slice of cheese and for some reason, it's melted on top of the lettuce? Well, sometimes traditions are dumb, so we're putting two slices on it, and melting them on the burger patties instead!
The Big Mac Sauce I've put together is a bit simpler than what you'll find in other recipes, but I honestly think it's just as good, if not better since it's less ingredients and easier to make. I see a few copycats use French Dressing, which is really just mayo, ketchup and a bunch of spices, so I included a few of those as well. Use whatever plant-based meat or cheese you want! ENJOY!
Also, if you want to make this more authentic, use smaller buns than I did and 2 oz patties instead of 3 oz. I recommend using a BURGER PRESS to get the patties nice and uniform.

Makes 1 Big Mac
2 Plant-Based Meat Patties (3 oz each)
2 Slices Vegan Cheese
1/2 Cup Shredded Iceberg Lettuce
5-6 Dill Pickle Slices
2 Tbsp Chopped Onion
1 Sesame Bun + Bottom Half of another Bun
Big Mac Sauce
2 Tbsp Vegan Mayo
1 Tbsp Ketchup
1/2 Tbsp Sweet Relish
Dash of Garlic Powder
Dash of Paprika
1/2 - 1 Tbsp White Vinegar
Combine ingredients for the Big Mac Sauce. Stir until well combined. Set aside in the fridge.
To prepare your middle bun (aka the Club), use a serrated knife and shave off just the bottom of the extra bottom bun.
Grill buns in a bit of oil or vegan butter until golden brown. Set aside.
Press your burger patties so they match the circumference of your buns. Then over medium high heat, grill on each side for 3-4 minutes.
After you flip the patties, add a slice of cheese to one and cover with a melting dome.
Once Cheese is melted, assemble as follows; Bottom Bun, Sauce, Lettuce, Patty w/ Cheese, Onions, Middle Bun, Sauce, Pickles, Lettuce, Patty, Onions, Sauce, Top Bun.
