I'm Watson aka Thee Burger Dude
Hello, my name’s Watson! I’ve been vegan since March 2018 and since then I’ve been busy veganizing a lot of my favorite foods, along with some dishes I haven’t had since I was a kid, or things I’ve never had at all! Like for instance, one of my goals is to veganize the entire Whataburger menu despite the fact that I’ve never eaten there! Because why not?
Now, I’m not sure if you can tell by perusing this site, but before going vegan, I used to eat a lot of meat and dairy. Literally every meal had at least dairy and usually meat. Maybe sometimes, I wouldn’t have meat at breakfast “for my health.” I used to have BBQs just about every Sunday and make hot dogs, burgers, tri-tips, you name it. So suffice to say, I never thought I’d ever go vegan. However, over time, I did some research into our food system and animal agriculture (aka I watched the first 90 seconds of Dairy is Scary) and on top of that, the vegan food has just gotten so good over the last few years, that it seemed like a no-brainer.
So this site is really for people like myself before going vegan (though I welcome anybody who just wants to make some tasty burgers of course!) I want to show that you can still have burgers, mac n' cheese, fried chick’n and any other kind of comfort food, and that it’s possible with plant-based ingredients.
